Put 6:45pm on Wednesday 14th March in your diaries!
Viv from SCAN and our very own Kathryn have arranged to show ‘In Our Hands’ at the Central Community Centre (in Swindon’s Railway Village).
What’s it all about?
It’s a film by the Landworkers Alliance about how we can create a fairer, and more sustainable food system in Britain. It’ll be free (donations welcome for venue hire and to make a contribution to the Landworkers Alliance). Hopefully they’ll also be sending someone along to facilitate a discussion at the end.
Tickets and Times
For (free) tickets please register here on our EventBrite page so that we’ll know you’re coming along.
Doors will open at 6:45pm with a finish time of 9pm. The film itself will start around 7:15pm.
Can you help?
Any help putting out chairs (or putting them away) will be gratefully received!
About the movie
“Food and farming is in crisis. In just over a decade we’ve lost more than 33,000 farms from our countryside, and alongside this, bad diet is now causing more health problems than smoking! The fundamental link between people, food and the very land we stand on is being broken. Yet it need not be this way.
There is a growing movement of farmers and food workers who are creating vibrant farms, living soils, thriving food markets and a fairer food system for all. At the heart of all change lies a story, and In Our Hands is the story of a new kind of farm, a new kind of food and a new kind of society. This film has been created as an open source tool in order to debunk the myth of the industrial food system, and be a resource for farmers and activists in building a better world.”
